It is my great pleasure to inform you that the 42nd World Congress of the International Society for the History of Medicine [ISHM] shall take place in Cairo, Egypt in the period of 9-13 October, 2010. It should be high lighted that Cairo has hosted this great event already in 1984. This was the 29th World Congress.

The organizing committee and I welcome you to this very important forum to enjoy its varied and rich scientific program that shall probe through the history of medicine in the Nile Valley since the very early beginnings of time.
The scientific program shall also cover many interesting and undiscovered aspects of the history of healing from different parts of the world and through the ages.
We welcome you also to cherish the unique and magnificent cultural and social events of that Congress.
